Astronomers discovered an amazing cluster

26 Jul

U.S. astronomers have found a new group of galaxies which could be the most distinct and earliest galaxies found till now. The astronomers used the ‘Spitzer Space Telescope’ developed by NASA.

The scientists at the Texas A&M University said that the cluster might contain about 60 galaxies that were formed after the Big Bang. They took 4 billion years to form and are approximately 10 billion years old. At the centre of this cluster there are many red galaxies which may contain 10 times of stars if compared to Milky Way. The finding about the red galaxies was stated by Assistant Professor Casey Papovich.

This type of finding was very unlikely. The universe is 4 billion years old and this cluster is 10 billion years old. Papovich said that this cluster is very rare if we consider the age of our universe and this cluster. This research done on 11th May will be included in Astrophysical Journal.
