Iran is rich of uranium deposits which are to be exchanged for fuel to power a reactor that is used in cancer research, the foreign minister of the country told on Sunday, according to media of Iran.
According to the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Manouchehr Mottaki told that “We declared explicitly that Uranium of 400 kilograms and 3.5 percent enriched is all set to exchange in Kish Island of Iran and will receive 20 percent enriched fuel in return.”
Some leading nations and the United States have been negotiating with Iran for sending low-enriched uranium abroad, where the material for reactor use would be reproduced.
The U.N. nuclear watchdog, The International Atomic Energy Agency, has proposed that low-enriched uranium should be sent by Iran to Russia first and then to France for further processing.
Iran has been doing arrangements for its nuclear bombs and this deal could reduce the quantity of material used by Iran for making a nuclear bomb. United States and some of its allies worry that Iran’s target is nuclear bomb production, but Tehran has been insisting that its nuclear programs are only for the purpose of peace and nothing else.

Earlier Iran was warned by the White House this month that it may face further consequences if it does not stop its activities of Uranium enrichment and “forsake their program of nuclear weapons ,” Robert Gibbs, a spokesman told.
Ali Larijani, parliament speaker of Iran, on Sunday told in a lawmakers address that Islamic enemies have been targeting Iran ever since the Islamic Revolution of 1979 , including America and its allies.
“Mr. president Obama made some cheap remarks on IRI’s (Islamic Republic of Iran’s) internal issues, and also Iran is being accused of supporting terrorist activities by the U.S. state’s minister all disclose their worries of IRI’s influence in their region,” Larijani told.
On the issue of nuclear power, he told that America and others don’t want Iran to be continued under the influence of IAEA regarding the nuclear activities.
